Most of the templates in this project utilize bodyGroups, with the exception being neck tattoos. Before we proceed, I will cover the differences between the the two in case you're working on a custom neck tattoo.
Here we have the required bodyGroups when creating a body tattoo:
Here are the required headGroups when creating a neck tattoo:
As you can see, the group names are different—headGroups also has four groups, while bodyGroups only has three.

Once you have added these names to the required groups, you should have a working switcher and tattoo. We're almost done with the most important part of this process—we just have to copy everything over to the opposite gender's .inkcharcustomization file (and change a few definitions). Don't forget to save your work Ctrl + S !
Regardless of whether you're making a neck tattoo or a body tattoo, you need to have your switcher and appearance names in all of the required groups; this is what actually creates the options in the character creator, while the customizationOptions just define them ().
